Changing Attitude London is delighted to be welcoming Ben Summerskill, Chief Executive of Stonewall, and Kathy Galloway, Leader of the Iona Community, as speakers at their conference ‘Caught in the Crossfire’ this Saturday.
The conference is already sold out with participants coming from all over the country. Other speakers include the Revd Clare Herbert, Rector of St Anne’s Soho, and John Ward, a lay member of the General Synod.
The conference, for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Christians, their friends and relatives, will be a safe space for listening and exchange of experiences, identifying the resources to help us thrive in the context of a troubled church and a generally welcoming secular society. The considerable interest in the conference indicates the desire of Anglicans of diverse sexualities to celebrate their God-given identity.
Professor Philippa Garety, Chair of conference, said, ‘I believe that affirming our confident Christian faith together is especially important in the run up to the debates in General Synod this February about human sexuality’.
