Changing Attitude is delighted to announce that Ben Bradshaw, MP for Exeter since 1997, will give the keynote address at the Civil Partnerships in Church Conference in Holy Trinity church, Smethwick, Birmingham on 24 September 2011. Ben is a member of the Church of England and became the first MP to enter a civil partnership in 2006.

Changing Attitude supporters will gather in Birmingham to formulate policy and develop a strategy for change.

Many lesbian and gay Anglicans, our families, friends and members of our congregations are praying for the Church of England, our Church, to grant us the freedom to contract civil partnerships in church followed by a service of blessing. Faithfully partnered lesbian and gay Christian couples desire to make their life vows to each other in their parish church in the context of prayer and worship with the love and support of their family and friends.

York General Synod meeting
Changing Attitude will be launching a campaign at the meeting of General Synod in York from 8 to 12 July to encourage the bishops of our Church and members of General Synod to approve permissive legislation allowing churches that wish to host civil partnerships to register.

It pleases my heart to see great men of God coming out to show Gods love to all without discrimination. I wish such events and teachings will take place in africa to enlighten our leaders to effect change which we long and hope for.
