Setting up our stall: TransEpiscopal at General Convention 300w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" />The 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church begins this Thursday in Indianapolis but Bishops and deputies are arriving already and businesses, organisations and charities setting up their booths (stalls) in the Exhibition area.

This morning the TransEpiscopal delegation, of which I’m part, had a meeting at our booth to review our display materials. I had brought several items from England which are now on display on the stall.

The area of the hall where we are exhibiting is overseen by the Consultation, an umbrella organisation for several organisations devoted to social justice. The Women’s Caucus is at one end and Integrity’s stand is at the other. The TransEpiscopal stall is just behind the Integrity stand where the wonderful Voices of Witness: Out of the Box, the testimonies of Trans people in the Episcopal Church is being played continually. View it on YouTube if you’ve not done so already:

At the Integrity reception, which I attended tonight, it was said yet again, that Trans inclusion is now the top priority for Integrity and hopes are high that at this General Convention ‘gender identity and expression’ will be added to the non-discrimination canon relating to ordained ministry.

Here is a picture of some of the TransEpiscopal team earlier today at our booth, sitting at the table where we will be able to chat with visitors to the exhibition.
