Colin Coward, the Director of Changing Attitude England met Steve Chalke last week at Waterloo to discuss the Open Church conference that Oasis is hosting on 10th and 11th April 2015. Changing Attitude England is excited by the opportunities the conference will create, provide space, as Steve puts it, “for those involved in church leadership for honest and open discussion around issues of sexuality, and also the wider range of questions about the journey towards a more affirming, compassionate and inclusive approach to biblical interpretation, pastoral involvement and mission.”
The speakers to be involved include Andrew Marin, the President and Founder of The Marin Foundation in Chicago, Vicky Beeching, writer and religious commentator who is currently doing research for a PhD on Christian theology and sexuality at Durham University, Bishop Alan Wilson, and Steve himself.
More information about the conference can be found on the Oasis web site, and you can book there. Steve is keen for people to start booking now! Changing Attitude England is involved in preparations for the event and it’s going to be a major focus in our calendar next year.
