We are a church which warmly welcomes all. St. Nicholas’ Church is the ancient mother church of the city of Brighton and Hove; it is a substantial and beautiful building, a landmark at the heart of a great city; but make no mistake: it is a church on the move.
We move in search of God.
We believe God searches for each of us. Out of sheer love for us, God wants a relationship with each of us. We are a diverse family of people always ready to proclaim the gospel.
But we move to an ancient rhythm.
We are successors to the first-century apostles, who answered the call of Jesus. We believe Jesus Christ uniquely opens the way to God. We believe God in Christ accepts us just as we are – and accepts you just where you are.
We invite you to bring your own spiritual journey – everyone has one – into this community, joining with many others on the way. Bring your gifts, your own religious tradition, your hopes, your doubts, your questions. Expect that your searching will be met by a searching and loving God. Expect to be embraced by a community of searching and love.
