Sheldon is home to the Sheldon Community. It is owned by an independent ecumenical charity the Society of Mary and Martha. We look forward to welcoming you to a place renowned for its beauty, its peace, and the vitality of life at its heart.
The Sheldon Community offers a wide range of retreats. Some are exclusively for people in Christian ministry and others are open to everyone. Sheldon is a cluster of converted farm buildings set within 45 acres of grounds with chapels and library.
For people in ministry: The Linhay Lodges are spacious and comfortable individual units, ideal for study, rest and emergency bolt-holes. 1:1 time available.
12,000-mile Service weeks provide a more sociable retreat experience with workshops, 1:1 time, led walks etc.
We also run courses open to everyone: a variety of led retreats, R5 weeks (read, rest, relax, retreat, recuperate), workshops and private retreats in Pig Pens and Hen Runs.
